I found the room layout challenging due to a high window and had a minor issue with noise from the bathroom systems. Great for short stays, especially for enjoying the nearby gardens.

Awesome stay in Ponterwyd 🌄
The vibe here is so warm, ya! The staff are like family, and the food is straight-up delicious-try the garlic mushrooms! Then there's the mountain view from our room-a real koppie view, lekker to chill and breathe it all in.
Just a bit chilly in the room, only one radiator working, but not a biggie.

The location is fine, providing beautiful views and ample parking space, especially for cruiser bikes. The bar atmosphere is great, mixing both locals and guests.
The reception area feels dated and cluttered, resembling a time capsule stuck in the 1970s. The double room I got had a high window that restricted movement around the bed and offered no real view. Noise from the plumbing was quite disruptive-especially in the morning when it sounded like a heavy machinery operation. Breakfast options were limited and not particularly fresh, with incomplete items left over from the previous day, made for an unpleasant sight. Lastly, it was annoying to have to schedule breakfast times when the idea is to relax and take your time.
